I hate to say it but I think IBM is entering a death spiral. So sad.
And Hitachi’s out of the mainframe business… That leaves??? Oracle, Fujitsu??? IBM tanking might make COBOL disappear faster.
IBM drove all of the hardware producers out of the mainframe business when they introduced CMOS in the z series processors. There is still a market for mainframes as no one has yet come up with the reliability and scalability as the mainframes especially in a sysplex configuration. That is why Wall Street, banks, and insurance companies still use them.
We’ve got to update this ancient epithet, now that modern medicine has concluded that eating boogers is good for you. Settled science!
Sea level rise …..While the “dramatic” Sea Level rise is probably the greatest excuse to demonstrate the danger of global warming /climate change or what ever term the wackaloon planet savers dream up. In the last 100 years the sea level has risen about 7 inches or about 1/8 of an inch per year.Hardly dramatic & for sure a catastrophic problem that does really not exist. In fact for the last 7 or so years there has not been any rise at all.
This is the principle reason I finally canceled my subscription to National Geographic as they have become propagandists for the entire Environmentalist
BS agenda.
Do this, ask any Climate change believer what they believe the correct or normal sea level for the planet is?……Would it be the 300 to 400 feet lower it was at the end of the ice age? what it is now ? The 7 inches more in depth we can logically expect in the next 100 years? Or if all the polar ice caps melted along with every glacier would it be another 200 in sea level depth ? Since they cannot logically come up with an answer to fit the agenda, they will likely be pissed. The truth does not always set you free.
This is the reality for sea level rise & fall for our planet & it has done so many times from long before we were even on this planet to day & will continue even if a pandemic occurs to wipe us all out.
It is the hypocrisy of mankind to believe we can destroy the planet. There is of course a reason for the rise & fall of sea levels , it happens to be the waxing & waning for the output of energy of our sun which determines whether or not ice forms or melts.
