This was one of my friend Cliff’s favorite bands back in the late 60’s early 70’s. The only original member is the dude on guitar and vocals. Jimmy Kunes who was lead singer for Savoy Brown for a year is now the lead singer for my all time favorite boogie band, Cactus.

Here is Cliff’s favorite Savoy Brown song. I don’t know why we never saw them live.

Compare this with the shit they call rock nowadays. Don’t even get me started on rap “music”. NWA in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

  1. I used to see Savoy Brown frequently, as they used to think of Detroit as a second home in the late 1960s/early 1970s. Of course, the best lineup they had was the band that recorded the “Savoy Brown Boogie” on the A Step Further LP. Chris Youlden was a great vocalist, and on that recording they had Bob Hall playing piano. Excellent stuff!

It is strange to see Kim Simmonds today, as he has gained weight and has chopped off most of his hair.

  2. their looking in album was great. Saw them play at a small bar at Silverdale, WA., played all the looking in songs, creepy good.

  3. I saw Savoy Brown here in Edmonton early 70’s. Manfred Mann backed up with Kiss opening. No clue who Kiss was at the time. Savoy Brown was good.
