Not content with calling Trump Hitler, Nicholas Kristof penned a column comparing Trump to Caligula. Not linking to the column because it is garbage like most of the crap coming from the left. There was this bit of projection in the column.
He replaced the heads of some statues of gods with his own head, and he occasionally appeared in public dressed as a god. He was referred to as a god in certain circumstances, and he set up a temple where he could be worshiped.
Exactly which president was referred to as “sort of a god”? It certainly wasn’t Trump. And what presidential nominee gave his acceptance speech in a Greek temple setting with all of those beautiful Greek columns? It was Jug Hussein Ears Downgrade who was worshiped and deified by the media. These people on the left just can’t help themselves. They have to project. It’s in their DNA.
Going back to Roman history we are actually in a state a few years before the emperor Caligula. We are in the last days of the Republic when gangs roamed the streets terrorizing the citizens. The leader of these gangs was a Roman named Clodius. He was a member of the ancient Claudian family, which gave us the emperors Tiberius, Caligula, Claudias, and Nero. He changed his name to Clodius because that was the original name of the Claudius gens way back in Roman history.
There were good Claudians and there were bad Claudians. Alas, mostly there were bad ones. They were cruel, arrogant, and power hungry. They were one of the oldest families in Rome. One of the Claudians, Appius Claudius, built the Appian way.
Clodius was known as the gangster of Roman politics. There were some who said that he and Caesar were connected. Clodius would be very comfortable today and he would be connected to the Antifa movement. He would love their slogan Peace Through Violence. Yep! That’s one way to get peace. In intimidate your opponents and that’s what Clodius and his gang of thugs did during the dying days of the Republic. Milo did a good deed when his gang killed Clodius on the Appian way. How cool was it that he died on the road his ancestor built?
In the words of George Orwell: “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”
History is being rewritten every day.
My stepdaughter, who I love dearly. Came home just yesterday and thought it was cool that the colonists were actually the ones that began scalping the indians. I had to sit her down, in front of a computer (unfortunately I could find no books around the house with this information) and show her several reliable sources that told how the colonists learn the practice from the injuns. By the time I was finished with her, she hated the book used in her history class and became suspicious of the teachers agenda. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
I believe that Napoleon once stated “What is history, but a fable agreed upon?”. Considering the Liberal/Progressive/Demorats/Fruitcakes actions in attempting to erase the Demorats history (removal of any confederate monuments, flag, erasing names on schools and military bases) and involvement in the Civil War – they must be assuming they have some how won.
Back when the democrats erected those monuments they had a specific purpose in mind. Now they want us to forget their past.
The TDS people keep screaming about how flawed Trump is. The irony is we know Trump is just a man, with quirks and flaws like any other man; we know this and support him anyway because he’s better than the alternative. The left worships at the altar of government, so they assume we do too. We don’t worship government; we regard government as a necessary evil, inherently broken and flawed, but better than anarchy; a thing to be kept in its box, as defined by the Constitution. So Trump is not our god; the assertion is pure projection.
By the way (and many of you know this), the Robert Graves pair of novels about Claudius are quite good, and the old BBC mini-series based on those books is also great.

horsejackass a senator, nobody would notice.Here in Erie the democrats are complaining Trump did not donate enough money to the Hurricane relief effort …..I`ll bet his million dollars was at least 15 times the total donated by the Obamas , , Billy & Hilly, Chuck the Smuck, Nancy Pelosi & the Goracle combined
