MrJimm suggested I post something from Pavlov’s Dog, which was a St. Louis band in the 70’s. They recorded two albums but broke up due to poor sales. This was their most well known song. They were essentially a one hit wonder.

The band reformed in the 2000’s and has toured.

Back in the mid 70’s when I was a typewriter tech for IBM, I met a girl who was a publicist for the band. One of my fellow CEs, who was a real hound, was trying to get into her pants. She was promoting their 2nd album, and was wearing a pin in the shape of a bell with the words, “At the sound of” written on it. I had to question her about it and she patiently explained, “At the Sound of the Bell”, the name of their second album. I kindly didn’t point out to her that if she had to explain it, her publicity sucked.

  1. Just BTW the track from ‘Pampered Menial’ that was being played on WXRT in Chicago that took my notice in ’75 was ‘Late November’.

    • Well he does have metal in his head. BTW, this guy is Jon Osshole’s mentor. The only reasons he got elected were, he was not Cynthia McCommie (whom voters gave a 2nd chance and she blew it by hitting a Capitol Cop with her cellphone), he’s black, and he’s a Dimocrat. Those are the only qualifications for being elected in that district: black and Dimocrat.

  2. It’s a nice song but when he started singing his voice startled me! It sounds like an elfish version of Geddy Lee had a gender reassignment procedure done.
