There is no doubt that the number one asshole of the week is Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter but there are some dishonorable mentions.

Liz Phipps Soeiro a librarian at a Cambridge Taxachusettes public school who rejected a gift of Dr. Seuss books from Melania Trump because they were racist. Yeah. I’m sure. This woman was photographed a year earlier dressed up as The Cat in a Hat. Obviously, this was motivated by Trump hatred.

And then we have compassionate Hayley Geftman-Gold who was fired for saying Las Vegas victims didn’t deserve sympathy because they were prolly Republicans. Here is what she said on Facebook.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”

Of course, I’m sure this is the mindset at CBS but I guess she didn’t thenk she was not allowed to say that publicly.

In the same vein, we had Crooked Cankles check in with a Twitter post saying that we shouldn’t politicize the event and then went on to do just that.

Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.

And last but no least is the San Juan mayor, a Thunder Rodent Thighs supporter, who bashed Trump for his “lack of support” for Puerto Rico in an attempt to make Puerto Rico Trump’s Katrina. This is a woman who complained of no aid while standing in front of containers containing aid. She had time to have custom T-shirts made, but not time to attend any of the FEMA meetings. None! Even her fellow Puerto Rican politicians called her out on this bullshit. What a fucking hypocrite, but then, she is a Dimocrat and a supporter of Felonia von Pantsuit (stolen from Kurt Schlichter)

I saw an article on Daily Mail Online about Megyn Kelly and her outrageous salary. Supposedly some stupid executive at NBC signed her to a $23 million a year contract. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What a beauzeau! According to the article Mat Lauer makes $2 million more and Jimmy Fallon makes $15 million a year.

NBC executives not involved in her hiring are furious over Megyn Kelly’s ‘obscene’ $23 million salary for her tanking morning show and think it’s a slap in the face to other established stars at the network, DailyMailTV has exclusively revealed.

Although it was rumored the former Fox News anchor was only being paid $17 million for her new role at NBC, Kelly will actually line her pockets with a total of $69 million over the course of three years for swapping politics for talk show antics.

Her hefty salary has drawn the scorn of senior NBC and Comcast executives who believe the 46-year-old shouldn’t be raking in more than the network’s veteran stars.

Although NBC has thrown its weight behind the new show, Kelly’s ratings tanked on Wednesday, critics have slammed the star for not connecting with her audience and she has found herself in a string of uncomfortable celebrity guest encounters.
One high-ranking staffer exclusively told DailyMailTV: ‘This is insane! How on earth can they justify paying her $69 million for three years? It’s obscene and a giant slap in the face to all of NBC’s established stars.’

Let me repeat. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You booger eatin’ moh-rons. Kelly’s career started declining the minute she decided to take on Donald Trump in the Fox debates. Also, she didn’t help herself when she got that ridiculous haircut.

The source continued: ‘The network that created Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw and Matt Lauer will now forever be remembered for the $69 million hire of Megyn Kelly.’

‘When you add the cost of developing the show, hiring staff and promoting Megyn all the time, this adds up to a $100 million mistake.’

Couldn’t happen to a nicer network. Once again. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Fox babes don’t really do very well when they leave Fox. Paula Zahn left and her career at CNN was far less successful than it was at Fox. Kiran Chetry, whom I adore (she looks a lot like one of my old girlfriends), made the mistake of leaving Fox and she totally bombed on CNN. Since leaving CNN in 2011 she has been on a few CNN International telecasts and done some infomercials.

I wonder what Megyn Kelly will do when her contract with NBC runs out? Maybe Fox will be liberal enough by then to take her back but at a far reduced salary than the $25 million they offered her. On the upside, I wouldn’t mind being a $23 million a year failure.

Instead of posting sumpin’ by Ron today, as Wedneday has become Ronsday on this blog, I am posting an essay that long time reader Art I sent me that he wrote back in 2008 that is relevant today. Here’s Art.

I think that he missed the point.

Anger turned to hate, along with fear, has become a political weapon. Hate and fear are dynamic while their opposites, love and fearlessness, are passive. So if you want to build a constituency and mobilize people you need only give them something to hate or something to fear. Love and contentment will result in their sitting back and enjoying their good fortune.

Because of this reality, politics has degenerated into the demonizing of opponents and scaring the public with issues for which no one has a viable solution. Then the demagogues can claim that they have the solution and that if you just throw the evil rascals out and give them control life will be wonderful.

They claim that if they are in charge they will save the planet and end poverty, homelessness, hunger, illness, crime and war. Oh, I forgot, and they would also guarantee total freedom. Wouldn’t that be paradise? If only you would support them and put them in charge.

One small problem. Free will and paradise are incompatible. As long as one has free will he is able to make bad choices as easily as good choices. Those choices not only effect the chooser but invariably have ramifications beyond the chooser. When bad, they result in the tribulations listed above. Whether you believe that Genesis is the word of God or an interesting fairytale, the message is the same. Adam and Eve were in paradise. Adam and Eve had free will. Adam and Eve made a poor choice. Adam and Eve were banished from paradise.

The question you must ask yourself is: How can these demagogues give you paradise without taking away your freedoms and making you totally dependent, which is the definition of bondage? They can’t.

The main difference between the Left and the Right is that the Left lives in a theoretical world while the Right tries to understand reality. The Left believes that more government is the solution, the Right believes that too much government is the problem. The world is a dangerous deadly place and as long as there is free will man will make choices that result in the above listed tribulations.

This is not an argument for giving up and ending the fight to reduce these tribulations. Nor is it an argument for ending freedom. It is an argument for recognizing the complexity of the problem and rejecting simple, feel good solutions offered for the purpose of gaining political advantage.

Another problem with the Left is that once they formulate a theory they marry it. No matter how many time it fails, they cling to it “till death do they part.” A classic example is Communism (Socialism). Instead of questioning the theory every time it fails, the left just proclaims that it wasn’t done right but if they were in charge they would do it right.

Since the Left emerges out of the theoretical world of the university, their influence spreads even to the world of science. The most important attribute of a scientist is to be skeptical about his own findings. Due to the influence of the Left, scientists are more and more becoming advocates for their initial findings. Scientists talking about a “consensus” is an oxymoron. Either the experiment rising from research can be consistently replicated or it can’t. If it can’t, then the theory that initiated the research is flawed and therefore should be discarded. There should not be a poll as to how many scientists agree with the theory. It is just as foolish to accept scientific evidence without question as it is to reject empirical evidence out of hand.

Finally, it has been my experience that any attempt to have a philosophical discussion with a Leftist is turned into a “right fight” by the Leftist. If you offer them an unassailable fact, they ignore it, go off on a tangent, or make an ad hominem attack (Bush lied, Bush is Dumb, etc.) They are right and anyone who disagrees with them is evil because they are just trying to make the world better. Of course whenever a theory fails, the theory wasn’t flawed, it just wasn’t properly implemented.

Well done Art and very well written. A couple of interesting tidbits from the left lately. One is the rabid fool Keith Olberman who calls Trump a fascist and Hitler and now is demanding that all guns be confiscated. Someone asked that if Trump were Hitler do you really want to disarm the populace? I know, cognitive dissonance on the left.

The left is saying that the reason socialism failed in Venezuela was that it wasn’t implement properly. I think it was Insty who said that the problem in Venezuela wasn’t that socialism wasn’t implemented properly, but that it was.

Yannow how the left is always accusing those of us on the right of being hateful and mean spirited? Of course that’s projection since most of the hatred always seems to come from the left and with the elction of Trump it’s gotten worse.

When Obungler was elected we got the Tea Party. Remember all the riots they created? Neither do I. All of their protests were peaceful. Of course, the left tried to cast the Tea Party as racist since the narrative was that any opposition to Jug Hussein Ears Downgrade was racist. The Congressional Black Caucus even walked through a Tea Party protest trolling for racist remarks. Since there were none civil rights icon racist pig John Lewis made up the story that he was called “nigger” thirteen times. He lied. There were countless videos taken at that protest and none of them proved his story. That’s when I lost any respect I might have had for the man. That’s when he officially became a racist pig.

Now we have Antifa and Black Lives Matter. Both of them are hate groups. Both of them are responsible for violent protests and riots. No one would have died at Charlottesville if Antifa hadn’t shown up. BLM has been responsible for the killing of cops and now they are in the process of destroying the NFL.

All of the violence at Trump rallies were caused by Bernie’s Brown Shirts. Trump even had to cancel a rally in Chicago for fear of violence from the left.

With the shooting in Vegas the hatred of the left is really on display on social media. One leftist moron on Twitter hoped that all Trump supporters would die. Really? This compassionate leftist wants sixty-three million people to die? I hate Thunder Rodent Thighs but I don’t want her supporters to die. I think they should get help for their mental disorder as liberalism is a mental disease, but I certain don’t want them to die.

We had a CBS executive, now fired, who had no sympathy for the people shot in Vegas since they were prolly Republicans and deserved to die. What kind of people think like this?

I have never seen the country this divided nor have I ever seen this amount of vitriol directed at a president or his supporters. We on the right despised Obungler, but we didn’t dream about or desire him being assassinated like those on the left do about Trump (and did about Bush 43). It makes me wonder, what is wrong with these people? Where does all of this hatred come from?

We have had leftist comedians making fun of Republicans before but not with the viciousness that we see now. I gave up watching SNL when they went all in for Thunder Rodent Thighs but from what I hear now, they have gotten far worse. Michael Che called Trump a bitch and a cheap cracker on the air but that’s OK. He’s black and blacks can be racists and bigots and get away with it.

Stephen Colbert on his show called Trump “Putin’s cock holster”. Have you guys no shame?

What is wrong with these people? They lost an election and they have become totally unhinged. Maybe it is time to split the country in two. Fortunately, I wouldn’t have to move if we did and a lot of liberals would leave Georgia. Blacks would too (There I go being racist) as welfare would be abolished.

It would be nice to see civil rights icon racist pig John Lewis move since his political career in Georgia would be over.

Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.

Once again politicizing the event to go after the NRA. BTW, Crooked Cankles, if you put a silencer on a machine gun and fire fully automatic, the silencer would melt from the heat. Also, a silencer doesn’t really work the way they do in the movies. The gun still makes a hell of a lot of noise.

And what does the NRA have to do with it? The guns this lunatic used were already illegal. These were fully automatic weapons. The big question is where did this guy get this arsenal? This does not sound like a lone wolf operation.

At least Obungler showed more class than you did when he tweeted.

Michelle & I are praying for the victims in Las Vegas. Our thoughts are with their families & everyone enduring another senseless tragedy.

Didja see in the news that fewer players knelt this week? The NFL is discovering that their fans don’t give a crap about “social justice”. They just want to watch football. People have turned off their TVs. The NFL can try to blame it on online streaming, hurricanes and other crap, but all polls show that it’s the kneegroes disrespecting the flag and the national anthem that has turned them off.

The NFL made a serious PR move by not fixing this last year with Krapperdick and then not addressing it during the exhibition season this year. Then they doubled down by having owners link hands with players and Jerry Jones kneeling with his players. They chose the players over the fans. They chose to give their fans the finger. Now their brand is tarnished. As I wrote earlier, they can always get new players. It’s harder to get new fans or to get existing fans back after they have lost them. Bad move Goodell. Bad move owners. Bad move coaches. Bad move players.

Continue to quit watching the games. Boycott Nike. Boycott Anheuser Busch.

True story. I grew up in the St. Louis area. I was weaned on Budweiser. I haven’t had a Bud in a long time and I was gonna buy a sixpack last week. Then when I heard A-B’s stupid response last week that they supported the flag but also the right of the players to protest disrespect it, I decided I would not buy any Budweiser after all. Take a stand A-B. Don’t weasel. Nike came out unconditionally for the players. They don’t deserve the business of normal Americans.
