My late Father In Law was a Marine Col. He was probably the finest man I ever met. For 28 years he was active duty and he told me this 28 years ago when I married one of his well raised daughters. “Son, I killed people in China, in the S Pacific, in Korea and in Vietnam that were Americas’ enemies. If anyone dares to lay a finger on one of my daughters, I’d kill a man in America”. He passed away 10 years ago at the great age of 88. America is worse off w/o him and millions of military members who served.
Obviously if you had a “great cruise” you didn’t hit any rough weather. Being on an LST sucks. I know. I spent 22 months on the Iredell County, LST-839.
