The Stupid Party finally did sumpin’ right! They passed the tax reform bill and gave Americans a nice tax cut in 2018. Yannow how I know this is a good bill? Because of how the left has gone totally batshit crazy.
Rosie O’Piggo tried to bribe two Republican senators by offering them $2 million apiece to vote against the bill. This happens to be illegal but if charges are brought against her she’ll get off by being declared mentally ill.
Paul Krugman is against it. Right off the bat that tells you it’s a good piece of legislation. Krugman, like many others on the left are moaning about how it will increase the deficit by more than $1 trillion over ten years. Holy crap! That’s about $100 billion a year. This gnashing of teeth and rending of garments is by the people who increased the debt by $10 trillion over 8 years! Also, Krugman wrote many times that the reason the porkulus failed was because it wasn’t large enough. He said it should have been at least $1 trillion more. So the guy who sez $1 trillion over ten years is bad is the same dude who wanted the deficit to be over $2 trillion in 2009.
Schmuck Schumer said the Republicans would “rue the day” they passed this bill. We’ll see as Republicans will run on letting people keep more of their money.
Pocahontas railed about how this was raiding the treasury. Remember, Dimocrats think all of the money belongs to the gummint so letting people keep more of their money is “raiding the treasury”.

Due to the corporate tax cuts, companies are already giving bonuses to employees.

US companies are already talking about repatriating a lot of the money they had stashed overseas because of our high corporate tax rates. When they bring it back they will pay a one time tax of 15.5% instead of the previous 35%. That will only help our already growing economy.

I have been writing for many years that we will eventually devolve into a socialist dictatorship. Obungler showed how easy it would be, especially with a spineless Congress and the backing of the Fake News Media, many of whom will be the first people lined up against a wall and shot. I once said 30 to 50 years. During the Obumbler reign, I changed it to 20 to 40 years. If Crooked Cankles had won it might have been even sooner. Trump bought us some time, but with the dumbing down of the American populace it is inevitable. We let the rat bastard commies take over the schools and the media (both Fake News and entertainment) and allowed them to corrupt our churches and other institutions like the Boy Scouts. All is proceeding according to the plan Antonio Gramsci wrote many decades ago.
Denny, I’ll turn 61 in Jan. and I hope I don’t live long enough to see the dissolution of the formerly great USA. Mr. Trump may just be the only one to turn around the demise of the nation.
You’re like me. I’m 64 and doubt I will see the end. It should not be pretty. I have 2 granddaughters and 3 great grandsons. I’m much more worried about them and what they will face.
I don’t know if there’s still time and will to save the country from its natural final downfall into full on communism. I have serious doubts on both counts, time and will.
But if the monumental chore was to be undertaken it won’t be from within the cozy, benevolent, business as usual, ‘let’s reach a consensus’, ‘let’s vote on it’, keeping ourselves neat and clean way of doing things.
The current brainwashed attitudes of most folks can’t fathom the mood of Washington crossing the Delaware and the will and purpose and resolve of all those who accompanied him. Most can’t fathom the need for such an attitude.
The spirit is absent, I’m afraid, in most of the citizens.
There used to be an understanding that the living owe the yet to be born to leave them a world a little better and a little safer then the one they received.
We are going to leave the yet to be born a hellish swamp of caliphate/communism/fascism that even the flies are going to abandon in disgust.
A long time ago I read something that went like this, as good as my memory serves me: “it is better to fight when the fighting is good because there’s a real chance at winning than to wait too long and having to fight without hope, with our backs against the wall and not then because we can any longer win but because it is the only decent and honorable thing left to do.”
