I’m a little worried about DACA. Don Surber isn’t. but I am for a two reasons.
Number one. You’re hanging out with Little Lindsey Grahamnesty. He’s a RINO. He’s for amnesty. He’s John McRINO’s mini-me. He can’t be trusted.
Number two. You are dealing with Dimocrats. Dimocrats always lie and Dimocrats do not keep promises. How many Republican presidents have been rolled by Dimocrats?
Reagan was on tax increases and amnesty. He made a deal to raise taxes if Dimocrats would cut spending. He raised taxes but the Dimocrats didn’t cut spending. The same thing happened to Bush 41 and it cost him the election.
Reagan also granted amnesty in return for promises of increased border security. Didn’t happen. Dimocrats did not keep their promises. They never do.
Any DACA deal must include the wall and I don’t mean DACA first and the wall second. If you make that deal the Dimocrats will not give in on the wall. The wall has to come first. You hold all of the cards. Don’t let the Dimocrats roll you.

No, they ain’t.
The problem is earmarks are only a small part of the problem, but gone, they are not part of it any longer. So, keep them gone, and get rid of the rest of the mess to fix things. You don’t catch a fish with a dozen lamprey on it, pull one off and toss it back and say “See, it didn’t really help to take that off” when its health doesn’t improve. You certainly don’t put the damned lamprey back onto the fish.
It doesn’t surprise me he is now okay with DACA. I’m sure he is busy trying to tell everyone how great it will be because now Trump is willing to deal on it.
No, it still pretty much sucks, and if they go Full DACA to get a deal on immigration, it will still suck and even if they get a full wall, and tenfold increase in border patrols, it might, very slight might, (though I doubt it, we are talking Lindsey the Lamprey here) be worth it, to trade off, but willing to trade it off doesn’t make it okay.
Great writing Denny. IMO, whatever gets done with the DACA invaders will mean less opportunity for native born children, namely, white male native born children. They’ll get jammed just like the white guys of my era did with affirmative action.
Brief comment on amnesty —
The reality is that amnesty is the solution for Democrats who haven’t the courage to prosecute or punish criminals who are here illegally and causing troubles for state governments and law enforcement.
Giving them a free pass on the trespassing charge and a turbocharged means to citizenship Ga-Ron-TEEs that they’ll vote for the party giving them the greenie, the welfare checks, the food stamps, and ultimately the vote.
And even if they lose on the amnesty issue, the Dems can weaponize the “heartless and brainless” attitude of the Trump administration in this year’s mid-terms.
So, if they can get amnesty for the “dreamers,” they win; if they can’t, they’ll use it as propaganda in the midterms and win there. The Republicans just can’t win against the dem machine.

Good post Denny! I initially agreed with all you said and most of the comments that preceded mine. I’ll have to admit though that was before I read Don Surber’s postings today.
Your’s is always my first read of the day. But, since I was taking advantage of the great upper 50° day and smokin’ some ribs, low and slow, I’m late reading my “Top-10” today.
I usually like Don’s insight so, I re-read Surber to see what your talkin’ ’bout and if I missed anything. The DACA post in question was on Saturday and I understood the logic behind Surber’s opinion. Then, this morning I believe Don clarified his comments pretty well and I still gotta’ go along with him on his assessment of Trump’s win-win position on DACA, the wall and deportations.
As far as Surber’s comments on earmarks, there is some logic there. I’m still not sure of how it will all play out so, rather than comment, I’m gonna’ have to have a “Wait and see” attitude towards earmarks. I’m gonna’ have to extend Surber’s “24 hour rule” on that one.

So now the left (and some on the right) are apoplectic because of what Trump said. Problem is, he’s saying what many/most people think and know but because of PC’ness no one does. Least of all politicians. How dare someone say something others might find offensive. Fuck em. We Trump voters are sick and tired of the way politicians pussy foot around important issues. My wife is an immigrant from Columbia. I have nothing against other countries. She’s a professional (veterinarian) and is uber proud she got her citizenship several years ago and loves this country. She’s the kind of folks we want coming here (easy on the eyes too, that’s always a plus). But these gang bangers, mooselimbs, entitlement assholes need to take a long walk off a short pier (both the shit hole immigrants and politicians).
It will be entertaining to look back on Surber’s and other commentary after the dust settles. You think Trump doesn’t understand the sliminess of the Dems? He’s playing them. Ann Coulter’s head is exploding. As smart as she is, she’s not seeing the plan. Trump is schooling Congress on its duties, something they’ve shirked for decades. Been to Haiti , calling it a shithole is nice.
Never having been to Haiti I can only imagine that our Indian reservations here are following in the great example of government handouts. I’ve been to a couple that look like landfills with curbing.
Those that have never been in a shithole country, smelled the stink, seen the filth and recognized the horribly corrupt governments, (mostly socialist), have no room to criticize Mr. Trump.
I have, and I appreciate what our president says. I do not want some ignorant savage to come here and bring their shithole with them.

Excellent post Denny. Nailed it on all counts. Compromising with a Democrat/Liberal means giving in to all of their demands and getting nothing but grief in return.

I don’t care about a wall one way or the other. Build it or don’t build it. I would rather see mandatory E-Verify and no welfare benefits to illegal aliens. Enforce those two issues and they create a virtual wall to keep out illegals–no chance of working (except with under the table payments) and no freeloading. They will definitely self-deport.
Throw in strict penalties for anyone for hiring illegal immigrants and most of the problem is solved. I can’t help but laugh at the recent 7-11 raids. They netted what–21 illegal aliens or something like that. They could get more than 21 just by visiting the nearest restaurant or hotel. Charge the employers and throw them in jail–not just fines which I’m sure they would be willing to pay as a cost doing business.
I am so tired to seeing obviously Latino illegal immigrants using food stamps at the local Latino-oriented grocery store. The cashier usually speaks Spanish to them with no prompting. When it is my turn, they speak English to me although I am Latino, but you wouldn’t mistake me for an illegal immigrant. Why is it that a cashier can spot them instantly (as can I), but social services can’t or won’t.
