Bummer! Been nursin’ this sore shoulder for a week now. Slowly gettin better, and today I got up almost completely pain free. Which is a GOOD thing, a VERY good thing.
So . . . fed the furry guys and took my mornin pills. Daily Routine calls for their goin out immediately after b’fast, so I went to do that. Dark. Maybe 0545.
Now, see . . . a new rolled-up 8 X 10 area rug appeared in the house yesterday, and it’s lyin in the living room on the way to the patio door. And I tripped over it.
Natural instinct – put my arms out to break the fall. Sprained the F@%& outta that almost-healed shoulder joint. Hurts like a &*#^%@!~* now. Shi’ite!! Ruined the whole goddam day before 0600.
So my mood is not partic’larly friendly at this moment. And whatever that stuff I found in the reefer and tried to eat was apparently somebody’s idea of a cruel joke, masquerading as food when in fact it was some kinda construction material . . . wood filler and floor sweepings, I think.
Anyway, read a few blogs and remembered why I don’t watch news on TV any more. Boy, it’s relentless, the vitriol, the malevolence, the spite, the shrieking at the sky. Pelosi, Waters, Jackson-Lee . . . the entire gaggle of Dems have become rabid dogs reflexively snapping at anything slightly right of far left.
Late-nite talk-comedy shows and leftist blogs have become little more than mean-spirited political sniping forums with ad hominem insults directed exclusively at the guy Hillary says she can’t understand how he could lose a billion dollars when SHE lost even more than that on her badly-run, losing campaign.
They’re STILL calling DJT a disaster for the country, ruining our image, causing people to die, making the rich even richer, and completely ignoring the reality of numbers relating to the stock market, illegal border crossings, unemployment, Food Stamp recipients, and so on.
It’s beyond fake news, too. They’ve gone to digging in abandoned barrels and empty cookie jars and flushed-out dumpsters determined LONG ago to be not only crumb-free but fingerprint-free where Trump and family are concerned. Diet Coke addiction my butt.
“Foul varlet thou art, unfit to cinch the girdle of she who would be queen. Thou reekest of MAGA, and thy boots are caked in the vile dung of honesty” is about the best they can come up with these days.
I’m not a journalist. Don’t pretend to be one. My standards for discussion of current affairs, particularly in regard to politicians and entertainers, are MUCH higher in their ethics and honesty than those imposed upon journalists by their editors and publishers.
People like Schiff deliberately leak exaggerated or overtly fake data knowing that eventually it will be revoked and they’ll have to retract, but by then the damage is already done — to make Trump & Co. look bad, like “Say, have you stopped beating your wife yet?”
The trouble with the fake news is that once it’s out there, no amount of retraction or revision or correction or apology will take away the images created in gullible people’s minds – it’s like the judge telling a jury to disregard the last comment by the witness. Hey, Joe Schmoe mentions a pink polka-dotted hippopotamus, and NO amount of admonition from the judge can ever erase that image from their minds.
Every morning, even before rush hour, ABCNNBCBS and Morning Joe have Trump tried, convicted, and sentenced. For some odd reason, tho, by sundown he’s free. I see a trend there – CNN makes something up, Trump tweets about it, all the networks except Fox leap into the fray with “GOTCHA!”s before going on to the next fabricated “scandal,” and the stock market goes UP.
And these days, we can’t find out what’s going on in Germany, China, Syria, France, Britain, or anyplace else because all the investigative reporters and news anchors have been either fired or suspended or assigned to writing political fiction.
Well, all I can say is that every time I hear one of the Four Horsesasses of the Apocalypse, you know – Pelosi, Waters, Schumer, Clinton – mention that the tax reform will cost middle-class families money instead of savin it for ‘em, I think of the $2,500 they promised when they passed SoetoroCare on a straight party-line vote.
That . . . and if the Dems in Congress suspected for even a microsecond that those illegals they want to amnesticize and make citizens could possibly vote Republican, The Wall would’ve been up 20 years ago and visible from the Space Station.
Oh, well . . . I’m in a rotten mood, but as I’ve seen in about 3 places this morning, “Maga Covfefe.”
