You Might Live In A Shithole Country

With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy.

If you have to squat to drop a deuce in a hole in the ground, you might live in a shithole country.

If your country does not have running water, you might live in a shthole country.

If you do not have electricity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you might live in a shithole country.

If your tap water is not safe to drink, you might live in a shithole country. I stayed at a Sheraton Hotel in Cairo Egypt and we were told not to drink the tap water. At a Sheraton!

If the name of your country ends in stan, you might live in a shithole country.

If your country is run by Moslems, you definitely live in a shithole country.

If your country is in Africa, you prolly live in a shithole country.

If your claim that your country is not a shithole country, like the president of Ghana did, you definitely live in a shithole country.

If your country is run by communists, you live in a shithole country.

If your country is in Central America, you might live in a shithole country.

If your country’s name starts with M and ends with exico, you live in a shithole country.

If you have emigrated to this country but insist on waving the flag of the country you came from, you came from a shithole country and you need to go back to it.

If you have emigrated to this country and the American flag offends you, you came from a shithole country and need to go back to it.

If you live in Haiti, you live in a shithole county.

If President Trump says your country is a shithole country, you live in a shithole country.

I’m sure I could think of more, but these are just off the top of my head.

And from Ron in Ohio.

  1. The only quibble I have is with Ghana.
During my 36 years as a geologist in the oil patch I have been to almost every sh**hole there is in Africa, the stans, S. America and Asia; however, I must say that Ghana was clean, safe and a whole lot better than most in Africa – the Brits did a good job back when they were running the place.

    • Heard the same thing from a buddy – he traveled all over EMEA and S. America and Ghana is the place he chose for his honeymoon.

  2. All said and done, I suppose that “shithole” is a judgement call on the general condition of a place. Some are inferior, because others are superior. So we can drag down the superior, or we can let the superior keep improving. But we need to know who the inferior ones are. And they need to try harder to improve. Or do they want the leading places to start flying backwards until everyone is equal?
Many years ago our foreign minister (Australia ) referred to “BAEs” – broken arsed economies.
As with shitholes, the language may be uncouth, but it is clear and succinct.

That right there is the motto of the liberals, be it other countries or rich versus poor. I’ve argued with liberal friends about this many times. The Democrats policies are to bring everyone down to a level where they are dependent on the government while the Republicans are trying to make everyone rich.
