There’s That Word Again

Back when Obungler was president, every bad piece of economic news was described as “unexpectedly”. Now that Trump is president, every good piece of economic news is described as “unexpectedly”. For example.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell last week, dropping to its lowest level in nearly 45 years as the labor market tightened further, bolstering expectations of faster wage growth this year.

The second straight weekly decline in claims reported by the Labor Department on Thursday also pointed to strong job growth momentum, which could further drive the unemployment rate lower.

Isn’t it amazing that capitalism works much better than Marxism?

“The extremely low level of claims is a sign of tightness in the labor market and suggests that February is shaping up to be another solid month for job creation,” said John Ryding, chief economist at RDQ Economics in New York.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits decreased 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 221,000 for the week ended Feb. 3, the Labor Department said. Claims fell to 216,000 in mid-January, which was the lowest level since January 1973.

Yep! Under Trump the economy is doing far better than under Obumbler. Job creation is up and wages are rising. But don’t worry, the American people are dumb enough to vote for Dimocrats and they can stop all of this job creation nonsense if they can take over the House this year.

  1. Leftists may look human but for practical purposes you have to see them like an alien species of utterly hostile, highly poisonous large army ants.
There’s no human decency in them.
Again, they may look human. But they are human like a gestapo low-life was human.
Between a leftist and a decent American what stands is not a mere difference of opinion.
One is a rotten to the core maggot with no redeeming qualities in it. All bad. All deleterious to human life.
The other is a human being.

  2. Maybe there should be a requirement that you’ve been gainfully employed within the last 12 months in order to vote? OK, that might be a little too extreme. How about no more than half of your annual income can come from government programs? Random thoughts, yours may vary.

    • I would go for anyone that is a ward of the state should not be allowed to vote. If one is receiving welfare, EBT, SNAP, Section 8 housing etc. that should be a dis qualifier. It is a conflict of interest to be voting.

    • IN order to receive government benefits, you must give up your right to vote. Said right to vote will not be restored until five years after you quit receiving benefits.

      • How loosely are we gonna define “government benefits” here, Jeremy? SNAP, WIC, AFDC, VA and SocSec are all considered by some as gov bennies. To tell you the truth, I’d give up my 20% check from the VA if the Feds would do away with all the other programs I listed above, less VA health care, and not replace ’em. That’s so unlikely to happen that reform from DINOs and RINOs could only come about “unexpectedly”.

        • Social Security and VA benefits are entitlements, they are earned either by contribution or service. Welfare, EBT, SNAP, Section 8 housing etc. are simply handout that are provided for consuming oxygen. If one is taking from the state they should not be allowed to vote.

        • I to recalled this rule in the beginning of our democracy. In today’s world so many people rent their living space or are unable to afford one even thought they are gainfully employed productive citizens. Again, a bit too extreme. I will say thought that the voting ballots should ONLY be printed in English.

          • I thought about it before I posted. Yes, there are a lot of hard-working, productive renters but most non-productive owners don’t own for long. And millennials don’t believe in ownership.

And yes for English only ballots and the end to motor voter.

  3. Repeal the 19th, the 17th, and watch how fast America corrects back to our Founding Fathers charted course.

    Until then, enjoy the decline.
