Ron rants on Congress.

Mark Twain is often quoted as saying, “Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.”

And even before him, John Adams said, “One useless man is a shame; two is a law firm; and three is a Congress.”

So, being a student of American history and a dedicated patroness of border trespassers and gangbangers, Nancy Pelosi has established herself as House Ludicrosity Leader, in perpetuity, despite her having succumbed to cerebral eczema decades ago.

Congress is about as finely attuned to Middle America as rappers are to decent music. Most of those “musicians” have as good an ear for melody and lyrics as Van Gogh, and most legislators are about as familiar with the Constitution as David Hogg.

When you hear the word “bipartisan” in relation to something coming out of Washington, it simply means that a bigger and sneakier deception is being foisted upon us.

And the black “leaders,” the Harrises, the Wilsons, the Jackson-Lees, Waterses, Soetoros, Holders, Rices, Lynches – our Affirmative-Action delegates and defenders – have a problem with the word dialogue; when they say, “We need to have a dialogue on race relations in this country,” what they really mean is “I want to lecture you on entitlements and reparations, so you be quiet and listen to me.”

But, Congress, the good-ol’-boy millionaires’ club, makes the laws we all are supposed to live by . . . unless, of course, you’re in California where you can arbitrarily select which federal statutes you like and ignore the ones you don’t.

Besides, we really don’t have to worry about the ethics and morals of our leadership in D.C. The US government, in the form of the DOJ and FBI, has thoroughly investigated itself and determined that it did nothing wrong, especially where Clinton, Holder, Lynch, Comey, and Obama were concerned.

Well . . . tell ya what – as far as I’m concerned, the science is settled and the case is closed: Congress is about as useful as nipples on a tom cat. The founders envisioned a small central government to arbitrate interstate affairs, deal with foreign nations, and defend the borders. For the past 100 years, what government has called “progress” has been mostly the systematic replacement of common sense with restrictive regulations and the self-feeding growth of government.

For fear of losing re-election, Congress refuses to do anything about the entrenched entitlement setup which eventually will, by law, consume all revenues before any consideration can be given to defense, law enforcement, and infrastructure.

In essence, though, our black-letter-law setup, our cradle-to-grave safe space, our politically correct welfare state, merely redistributes poverty while enriching the already wealthy and powerful. As with psychiatry, it has become the very disease which it promises to cure.

And then there’s Hollywood, which lectures the rest of us about our impact on the environment while flying around on private jets. It lectures us about abuse of women while everybody there has known for a century about the “casting couch.” It lectures us about violence while making movie after movie with faster chase scenes, more spectacular explosions, and higher body counts. And it lectures us about private ownership of guns while being protected by armed bodyguards.

And, of course, political correctness, which is essentially nothing more than thought control. When pressure is put on us to avoid offending people, especially students, by what we say, we become hesitant to say things which might hurt sensitive snowflakes’ feelings. That becomes a habit which causes us to avoid EVER saying things, especially the truth, which might be taken as offensive.

Then, once we’re trained not to SAY certain things, we repress even thinking about them, because what would be the point if we can’t actually speak what we’re thinking. And when we stop thinking about certain things because peer pressure or government has pressured us against it, our thoughts are being controlled.

Well, Congress to me has deteriorated from a patriotic assembly of public servants into an idiotic clique of parasitic sycophants, a 535-member squadron of UFOs (Unqualified Freakin Obstructionists) to whom I say this:

Those who would presume to counsel and guide us on moral behavior, such as priests or counselors, must hold themselves to a higher standard of behavior in that area than those whom they would counsel.

Those who would write or amend or repeal legislation for the rest of us must hold themselves to a higher standard of common-sense ethics than the rest of us.

Those who would enforce the laws must hold themselves to higher standards than those who are not fully aware of the provisions of those laws because the nature of the laws is so obscure, ambiguous, and self-contradictory that even lawyers often can’t figure it out.

Those who would seek public office to serve the nation and its citizens must remember that politics was never intended by the founders to be a career path to fabulous wealth.

Those who would become obscenely rich in the entertainment business must keep in mind that people who buy their CDs and watch their movies don’t really give a damn about their opinions, only their talents.

and why we have to drain the swamp
where Congress lives like kings.”
