Holy crap! Jimmy’s still playing the Fender Telecaster that Jeff Beck gave him. I still prefer the studio version of this song. During the bow solo you can hear an interplay between Bonham’s drums and John Paul Jones’ bass that isn’t in the live version.
Zeppelin was never very good in concert. I saw them in 1978 and was not impressed. Very unpolished.
I used to have a bootleg LZ album of their 1975 Seattle performance. It was so bad it sounded like a parody of them. Aerosmith was also notorious for some pretty shitty live performances during that era.
