A few weeks ago I posted Judas Priest doing this song back in the 80’s. Here they are doing it some 20 years later back in 2005 in Budokan Japan. Look at the Japanese head banging to Tipton’s 4 note solo. K.K. Downing didn’t age for shit! But, his solo was awesome. Scott Travis was really an upgrade on drums. Growing up he dreamed of playing drums for Priest. The guitar playing on this song was much better than the 80’s. Halford can’t hit the high notes anymore but he’s still a good heavy metal singer.
I have this concert on DVD. Great concert!
Yeah, we all get old. Good video. Thanks Denny!
I like this. It’s colourful. Also very sad. It’s true nobody seems to care when we’re getting old.
Very cool; they look and sound great in this video. I saw them at Summerfest in Milwaukee way back around 1989 or so on a very small stage with just some bleachers and picnic tables. The venue didn’t do them or their sound justice because they are definitely an “arena” band.
Anyway, it has always been extremely rare to see a band with two lead guitarists who could write and play together so well and stay together so long.
