Death By Suicide

I see the Boy Scouts are about to declare bankruptcy. Gee. Who coulda seen that happening? It really gives me no pleasure to see this happening. I was a Boy Scout. Started as a Cub Scout (my mom was a Den Mother one year), graduated to Boy Scouts, and then became a Sea Scout where I learned how to sail. So it’s sad to see the demise of a great institution, but the Boy Scouts did it to themselves.

It all started when they let the SJWs bully them into accepting queers as Scout leaders. Here is the Boy Scout Oath.

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

I’m sorry, but taking it in the ass is not morally straight and allowing people who do to influence the lives of young boys is just wrong.

I supported the Boy Scouts when they first banned queers. I quit giving to the United Way at work when they quit supporting the Boy Scouts for it. I took every dollar that I would have given to the United Way and gave it to the Boy Scouts. I quit buying Levi products when they quit supporting the Boy Scouts. Unfortunately, the Boy Scouts forgot that line about keeping “morally straight” and caved. At that time, I quit supporting the Boy Scouts. I had better uses for my charitable contributions.

It turns out that the Boy Scouts have a pedophile problem. Now how could that have happened? Could it have anything to do with queer Scout leaders?

The nail in the coffin was letting girls in. Girls have their own scouting organization. It’s called the Girl Scouts.

The Garmscian march through once respected organizations continues and, as always, those organizations are destroyed. Just remember Boy Scouts, you did it to yourselves.

Sad. Another once great institution destroyed.

  1. I as well was a Cub then Boy Scout. Also supported them for years. When they caved, I knew it was over. Over for me as well.
Never made Eagle Scout. I learned how to screw off by then.

  2. I still do quite a bit of volunteer work for them. This is all about protecting their assets. Kind of like when Phillip Morris broke into two companies to protect theirs. This is all about law suits they are going through now from many years ago. Here is the letter that I received via e-mail about a week ago.

I am writing to you today in anticipation of news reports that will speculate about the BSA’s financial position. We have an important duty, and an incredible opportunity, to focus as an organization on keeping children safe, supported and protected, and preparing youth for their futures through our nation’s foremost program of character development and values-based leadership training.

To do so in perpetuity, we are working with experts to explore all options available to ensure that the local and national programming of the Boy Scout of America continues uninterrupted. We have a social and moral responsibility to fairly compensate victims who suffered abuse during their time in Scouting, and we also have an obligation to carry out our mission to serve youth, families and local communities through our programs.

We care deeply about all victims of child sex abuse and we are steadfast in our belief that one incident of child abuse is one too many. We sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed during their time in our programs. As you all know, we have always taken care of victims – we believe them, we believe in fairly compensating them and we have paid for unlimited counseling, by a provider of their choice, regardless of the amount of time that has passed since an instance of abuse. Throughout our history we have taken proactive steps to help victims heal and prevent future abuse. I want to stress that at no time in our history have we knowingly allowed a sexual predator to work with youth, and we always seek to act swiftly when alerted to abuse allegations.

Please know that these matters continue to have the full attention of the highest levels of our organization, and we will communicate transparently as there are developments or updates to share. I wanted to update you today due to the news speculation, and I want to assure you that our daily mission will continue and that there are no imminent actions or immediate decisions expected.

Thank you for your continued support of the Boy Scouts of America.

    Michael B. Surbaugh
    Chief Scout Executive

Hopefully this is not too long.

    • When I was in Sea Scouts, we were based in Kirkwood (The Webster ship was no fun – had no sailboats) and met at the Presbyterian church on the corner of Adams and North Kirkwood Road. Remember it? I was also married there. We were sponsored by the Kirkwood Lions Club. We made money by putting out American flags in front of Kirkwood businesses on national holidays. Alas, I see that neither the Kirkwood or the Webster ships exist anymore.

      • I remember the location. Did you sail on the Meramec River? Why would Sea Scouts be in Kirkwood or Webster Groves? Most Sea Scouts are on the coasts or off big lakes. We had a Cub Pack, Troop, and Explorer Post at Robinson Elementary. My brothers belonged. I did not. By St. Joseph Hosp in Kirkwood. School is still there. Hospital has been torn down. St. Louis is not the strongest area for Scouting. Kansas City is huge. 6000 scouts a year camp at Bartle where I go. 4000 acres of land. H. Roe Bartle was big into Scouting and much is named after him here. He was considered to be the Chief. Chief Lone Bear. Head Scout Executive for years and also Mayor of Kansas City for years. The Chiefs are named after him.

        • At that time, we sailed on the Mississippi River. There was a big base about three miles downriver from Portage de Sioux. We had a big blue school bus that we used to take us there on Sundays. Every ship had to do a duty weekend where we drove up on Saturday and spent Saturday night there. Back then there were prolly ten St. Louis area ships. There was even one all Jewish ship from University City. Every August, there was a regional regatta at Lake of the Ozarks at a camp near the Grand Glaze Bridge. Ships from all over Missouri and at least one ship from Arkansas would attend. Jesus! This was over 50 years ago. The base on the Mississippi River is no more. All gone. Even the house where the caretaker stayed is gone. The camp at Lake of the Ozarks is still there. I stopped there last time I drove through. There are at least two Sea Scout ships still active in St. Louis. Looks like they sail on Creve Coeur Lake.

  3. So very sad. I too was a Cub and Boy Scout. My Dad was a Scout Leader and my Mom a Den Mother. We held meetings in the Fellowship Hall of our church. I’m sure that would be frowned upon these days. All of us local scout boys grew up successfully and respectfully. That’s not what the libs want.

  4. What it really comes down to is, the left doesn’t want to see a group that, in their opinion, discriminates based on sex or sexual orientation. What we really need are organizations that cater specifically to males and females. The Boy Scouts used to do that for males. Girl Scouts did it for the females. There are distinct differences between the sexes and these groups help these kids learn their respective roles. That’s not to say that one is better or putting anyone down. There are just differences. I remember playing as a kid. A bunch of us boys would be playing some kind of sport, football, kickball or whatever. It always happened every time, “let the girls play”. And so we did. And we always had to tone it down, back off and let them be competitive.
The sooner these people learn that there differences between us all and let us be, the happier everyone will be.
All you have to do is look around. California used to be a very desirable place to live, now it’s a toilet. Detroit used to be a manufacturing powerhouse, toilet. Every place or thing that used to be good, has been ruined by left wing thinking and policies. What I don’t really understand is, there are plenty of leftwing socialist paradises that these people could move to. Why do they insist on ruining this country?

    • They hate this nation and everything we used to stand for. They are hellbent on destroying this nation and won’t be satisfied until they do. They are destroying Chicago right now. Turning this once great city into a toilet worse than Detroit. The tragic, truly sad part is these foul, worthless vermin scum will succeed eventually. I just wish I will not be alive to see that day arrive. I can only hope they get exactly what they deserve and every bit of it. Scum. For the record I was a Cub Scout. Me and my father and mother had a lot of fun doing various activities with them. And then there were other women who were Den mothers for the Cub Scouts and for the Brownies. Those were far off days that are long gone now. To bad for this nation.

  5. For the record, I am still disgusted by the lefts bullshit attack on the Christmas song “Baby it’s Cold Outside”. I still remember hearing far more vile lyrics coming from rap songs played at work or hearing from the SUV’s here in Chicagoland. Just disgusting beyond all belief.

    • No kidding. On of the first rap songs I ever heard came blaring out of an over sized SUV. It talked in the vilest, lowest, gutter terms about how a man beat and then threw a woman out of a third story building for refusing to give him his money and weed. The attack by the left on this Christmas song is total, pure raw hypocrisy at its worst. Its not fooling people like me for a second and never will.

  6. My 12 year old son told me that a bunch of girls wanted to play kickball with them at the park one day. The boys let them join, but suggested team captains picking sides. No, the girls militantly insisted that it be girls vs. boys. Of course, the girls had to be up first. Top of the first inning: three up, three down. Then the boys were up — the score was quickly 15:zip and the girls hadn’t even gotten one out yet. Then the girls started demanding rules changes that would favor them, and still they couldn’t score.

The boys gave them everything they wanted and yet the girls were still unhappy. I told my son that he better get used to it, ’cause that’s the way it’s going to be the rest of his life.

  7. So little is known about group psychology in this country that it permits the left to demean positive groups and encourage negative groups for the purpose of divide and conquer.
In 1787 we had philosophical leaders interested in understanding. Today we have political leaders interested in power.
Franklin said it best at the Constitutional Convention: “Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. place before the eyes of such men a post of honour that shall at the same time be a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it.”
Our 90% incumbency rate for Congress gives credence to Franklin’s words.

    • Sorry, but aspects of group psychology are very well understood – by people who seek to control. The Soviet Union did this very effectively.
The playbook of the left is a study in Social Psychology. Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky – one of Hillary’s mentors.

  8. Didn’t go all the way with the Scouts myself, but did get involved in a lotta stuff with ’em that’d be banned today.

    1. Climbing shale cliffs — if you’ve ever done it, you know why it would be considered too dangerous for today’s kids

    2. Eating weird stuff cooked over open fire — including snake, turtle, squirrel, tubers, wild onion, frogs, and the occasional raccoon

    3. Doin community service stuff — scraping and painting the outsides of the “Old Folks’ Home,” shoveling snow from the courthouse steps and walks (four-sided building with lawn), trimming bushes and lawns for people who couldn’t do it for themselves (for whatever reason), cutting brush along the creekbed (creek ran through town; sometimes overflowed its banks if stuff piled up) . . .
none of which kids today would be allowed to do ’cause it involved axes, brushcutters, workin on ladders, heavy labor, and lawn mowers.

Good organization, useful . . . ’til about 25 years ago — kinda like Congress.

    • The demise of the Boy Scouts of America, began under leadership of Rex Tillerson, lobbying for sodomite youth membership and, the final nail in the coffin, Robert Gates who demanded sodomite adult leaders.

  9. Put our son through Cubs and Boy Scouts, he made it to Eagle and went on to the Air Force Academy. Yeah, I’m a little proud. . . That said, his little sister attended more boy scout meetings and events than some of the boys in our troop. There were several times that I had wished she could have been in that troop. She was in girl scouts but in my opinion that organization could borrow several pages from the way boy scouts do things. COMPLETE different experience and way of doing things, most of it not for the better. Very disappointed in the BSA for giving in to the gay pressure. It is a private organization and as such is free to do as it wishes. Our local bishop went so far as to pull all diocese sponsorship from any of the local troops. His annual appeal now goes to my local BSA council!

  10. Scouting definitely went down the tubes from Camping hiking woods craft, order of the arrow & explorer scouting to prissy feminized losers ,I did enjoy scouting when it was a male activity…….Incidently when we got into Explorer Scouting our Scout Oath was revise d……It became “On my Honor I will do my best to help the Girl Scouts get Undressed” .Our Scout Camp “Camp Sequoia” on the shores on Lake Erie was just 2 miles from a Girls Camp….we3ll within our War Canoe range. Anyway not many of the girls agreed with our revised Oath …..But there were a few & they were quite popular.
