It’s so sad to see what is going on in Paris with the fire at Notre Dame. Such a beautiful cathedral damaged. Somehow, the three rose windows survived.
I’m lucky to have visited Paris back in 1987 before the mass importation of all of the Moslems. It really was a beautiful city back then and my mother and I felt safe walking around the city and riding the Metro. I don’t think that’s the case now.
Back then, they did not have to build a barrier around the Eiffel Tower to protect it from Moslem terrorists.
We really have to wonder if the Notre Dame fire was arson since there has been a rash of church fires and vandalism throughout France. Also Moslems are cheering the Notre Dame fire.
Of course, the globalists, who hate Christianity and Western Civilization will have none of that. It was a construction accident dontcha know. It couldn’t be members of the Religion of Peace.
Notre Dame is just a metaphor for Western Civilization. It had been allowed to deteriorate and had to go under intensive renovations. Alas, I fear Western Civilization, which is being undermined by the globalist elite, also needs to go under intensive renovation but it is besieged by enemies without and within. Our universities, which throughout history, have been the foundation of Western Civilization are now enemies. Shakespeare? Oh he’s just some dead white guy. We don’t need to teach him. Same with many other great writers. Instead, we have mediocre people of color. White people bad. Colored people good. Western Civilization which has lead to the greatest advances in human history is somehow bad. Why? Because it was created by white people.
Notre Dame was built by white people. It was built by white Christians. It stood for 800 years. Now it stands severely damaged. Just like the civilization white people built. Once again, we have the Heinlein quote.

Something like this happening, whether an accident or intentional, has been inevitable for a long time now. Europe’s leadership will never admit a terrorist connection because it would undermine their globalist agenda.
Ironically, the Church will garner sympathy and the cathedral will be rebuilt. Christianity has been fading in most of Europe for some time now and will benefit from this tragic event. Conspiracy theorists will say it was a Catholic inside job a la the Reichstag Fire.

When “bad luck” runs out they simply start to call it “sabotage” like Maduro is doing now.
The “official” explanation will be a construction accident. Nobody dares say otherwise. But the sheer amount of cheering from the Moslems is damming proof enough, there is no sympathy from the keepers of the religion of peace.. We hear of more “accidents” in the future. I keep thinking back to your quote from Heinlein and it really makes sense to me more than ever Denny. We will all seem much more bad luck in the future.
I have no way of divining the truth in this situation . . . doubt we’ll ever really know who did what when or where. Pointing fingers and uttering harsh realities simply isn’t done in modern polite societies.
But . . . seems to me the French authorities have been awfully quick in saying that there is NO evidence of arson or terrorism or anything related to them.
After all, it is dangerously close to blasphemous to say anything about our peace-loving Muslim brothers and sisters that might suggest they contribute anything but peace, serenity, and order to society. Politiquement correct, n’est ce-pas?
Key word there being “danger” . . . as in asking to have various organs physically removed with large-blade instruments — such as tongues, hands, heads . . . . . .
If it is found to have been a terrorist attack by the Moslem fanatics ……I hope it is not made public knowledge ……..I think an orange glow over where Mecca used to be would be an appropriate response followed with a mass deportation of all Moslem`s from France.

Just like the end of Casablanca, the French will round up ‘The Usual Suspects’ and then go back to their cheese and croissants oblivious to the destruction that is coming down all around them from invaders. Instead of the Germans, this time it is the muslims who are seeding the destruction of the western civilization.
Notre Dame has been close to destruction before. Just before Napoleon’s crowning as Emperor, the cathedral was in a terrible state. At Napoleon’s request the rehabilitation started then to restore it to the glory it once had.
Western civilization has had its ups and downs. Typically when things are going well, heritage and history are ignored and allowed to deteriorate. Then some cataclysmic event will come along to jog the memory and after an intense period of hardship and battle things are restored yet again. The biggest difference this time around are the numbers of the enemy who is eroding the foundation of western civilization. We are not talking millions. We are talking Billions!
Once the invaders gain entry into the castle of society, it is not all that difficult for them to start tearing it apart. Such is the muslim invasion at this time. If the facts of the real and inarguable non-compatibility of islam and Christianity within the same society are ignored, Christianity will be destroyed.
With the destruction of Christianity so goes the values and types of government that this religious belief founded. The era of the ‘Christian’ nation with the church controlling the rule of law has been over for the most part for a long time. Even so, we still embrace the best tenets of Christianity within our societies. Islam is dead set against this.
Arson, construction accident or otherwise, the burning of Notre Dame will be a turning point in our history and at this writing, I have no idea which way things will go. Like always, time sifts the facts and settles the arguments.
As sad as this is, France still has an abundance of cathedrals from the middle ages. Having visited the cathedrals at Reims, Amien, Lyon, Avignon, Metz, Nancy, Dijon, Bordeaux, and Nice, Strasbourg, these are still fine examples of gothic cathedral architecture. The cathedral at Chartres just about 50 miles southwest of Paris and only about an hour train ride and is really far more impressive than Notre Dame in Paris. Largely unchanged since the 13th century, Chartres is nearly 75 ft taller than ND in Paris and has the most beautiful windows, known for the chartreuse blue in the stained glass windows. It’s more than worth a little detour from Paris.
As a matter of fact, ND in Paris was actually a disappointment after seeing Chartres.

Philosophy Professor, Marc Lamparello, 37, had pulled up in a minivan outside the landmark cathedral on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, walked around the area, then returned to his vehicle at 7:55 p.m. and retrieved the gasoline and lighter fluid, said NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism John Miller.
