More Global Warming News

Quick! Call the Gretard. We have some global warmening news.

A May snowstorm is in the making for this weekend, and it could bring historic snow totals to parts of the interior Northeast and New England.

But how could this be? I thought snowfalls were a thing of the past.

A May snowstorm is in the making for this weekend, and it could bring historic snow totals to parts of the interior Northeast and New England.

“historic snow totals”

Widespread snowfall totals will range from a dusting to 6-8 inches in some spots, while isolated areas in extreme northern New England could see up to a foot. If this happens, it will shatter May snowfall records. Some cities that could see snow include Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton, Albany in New York; Scranton, Pennsylvania; and Burlington, Vermont.

Hmmmmm! Maybe we should start worrying about global cooling. And just think, people who suffer heart attacks while shoveling the wet snow will prolly be classified as Kung Flu patients.

In addition to the rain and snow, it will be very windy with gusts over 40 mph across the entire Northeast region and Eastern Seaboard. Snow, rain showers and gusty winds will continue for the Northeast and New England through Saturday.

About 45 million people are already under freeze watches and warnings from the Upper Midwest to Appalachians. These will likely expand in coverage and population.

The cold air that will be responsible for the snow in the Northeast and New England will be record-shattering. More than 50 record lows could be set or tied after Saturday and Sunday. Highs and lows will be 10-20 degrees below average this weekend, with that cold air stretching all the way into the Deep South.

By Saturday morning, 75 million people will wake up to temperatures below freezing. Wind chills in the Northeast will be in the 20s and 30s, and for many cities, it will be colder on Saturday than it was on Christmas Day. Cities that could set record lows over the weekend include: New York and Buffalo; Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee; Baltimore; Detroit; Pittsburgh; Charlotte, North Carolina; Little Rock, Arkansas; Montgomery, Alabama; and Shreveport, Louisiana.

The last time New York City dipped into the 30s in May was 1978.

Fallen Angels was just a novel right? Same with The Last Centurion where they had global cooling and a flu pandemic.

Life imitates art.

  1. J’ever notice that scientists can’t accept common names for things? Originally, the historians had four periods:

    Primary = Now called Paleozoic
    Secondary = Now called Mesozoic
    Tertiary = Early Cenezoic, now called Paleogene
    Quaternary = Later Cenezoic, now called Neogene (not Newgene, this isn’t Jerry Clower).

    Within the Cenezoic Era, the time intervals are further divided into epochs named …cene’s: Paliocene, Eocene,…Pleistocene. They now call the latest epoch the “Anthropocene Epoch, the human-caused epoch. But, in reality, it is the “Obscene Epoch”, the epoch of Junk Science.

  2. Quick! Get more CO2 into the air! Sarc off.

    It will be interesting to see the reaction when the CO2 count isn’t affected by the virus economic slowdown.

  3. Of course any deaths shoveling snow are Corona deaths. The Wuhan Flu caused a shut down of the economy. The resulting drop in green house gasses (except in Washington) is what led to this new ice age. So, yes, China is to blame.
    Time to get the economy restarted before we all freeze to death.

  4. Calling for 3-6 inches with a high of 37 here in central Maine. That’s crazy for May. Someone get Al Gore on the phone quick.

    • …record cold and snow expected in May… Al Gore could not be reached for comment (he’s probably busy inventing a cure for china flu)…

        • Remember the Al Gore inaugural tour of Monticello? Seeing the plaster busts, he asked “Who are these people?” … “That’s George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Lafayette, and John Paul Jones.”

  5. Here in Erie we have been blasted with Global warming BS because of our sparse snowfall accumulations this year……..JUST UNDER SIX FEET ! To be fair for the last 40 Years we have averaged 9 to 10 feet so we are below average but I do not consider 6 feet sparse.
    Hows that song go?……….”April showers bring May snow showers “! They may dance around the may pole this year but they will be wearing boots or snowshoes.

    • I was born and lived in Denver until age 32. We would get more snow in March than in Jan. or Feb. We would get a wall calendar showing children flying kites on grass hills in March. I would look and say “Where do they get this? It’s still Winter & snowing!” Now I live near Memphis, and finally get to see grass, instead of the snow, in March.
