This was part of the “Jesus Freaks” music movement including “Jesus Is All Right With Me,” by the Doobie Brothers. Delaney and Bonnie also did a lot of borderline-gospel songs in that area.
Wikipedia says Greenbaum had two songs: this one from 1969 and “The Eggplant That Ate Chicago,” which plays exactly like it sounds.
51 years old and sounds better than anything recorded today.
