Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. He’d never been to church in his life.
After Mass, the priest caught up with him and said, “Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?”
Murphy said, “I got to be honest with you Father, a while back, I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like mine and I knew he came to church every Sunday. I also knew that he had to take off his hat during Mass and figured he would leave it in the back of the church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn’s hat.”
Later, the priest said, “Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn’t steal McGlynn’s hat. What changed your mind?”
Murphy replied, “Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I decided that I didn’t need to steal McGlynn’s hat after all”
With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile and said, “After I talked about ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal’ ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in hell?”
Murphy slowly shook his head. “No, Father, after ya talked about ‘Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery’ I remembered where I left me hat.”
Good one, but somebody needs to tell Murphy that if it’s just a quickie he don’t need to take off his hat.
Maybe he saw Burt Reynolds take off his hat in “Smokey and the Bandit”.

I want to tell all of you here today to be proud of yourselves. Don’t let the demonization or petty attacks from the enemies of this great country affect your psyche one iota. You were part of the greatest political uprisings in the history of the United States. Your love of country was felt throughout it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being patriotic and loving this country. In my day it was a virtue to be admired.
The left hates us because of our unity, patriotism, and belief in America. They don’t understand it and they never will. They tried every dirty political trick they could to break us apart. But we all held together. Even through a biological attack and a stolen election, we continued to support this great President. We single handedly destroyed political polling! Our President graphically exposed the deep seated corruption and conspiracy in our government, the media, and the world.
The thousands of troops in DC today illustrate the fear of the Democrats, not ours. We must stay together to prosecute the horrific criminality in the Democrats. The country and the world know that we are right and they are wrong. Their obvious guilt and shame at what they have done to the Constitution will be remembered in history forever.
i want to thank all of you personally for what you have done to help this great country and this old man. I stood 100 feet from the podium on this day in 1981 and watched Ronald Reagan being sworn in. It was the first US election that 18 year olds could vote. And it transformed me the same way Donald Trump transformed you. When I shared that feeling with all of you in 2016 it was one of the most memorable things in my life. I am in my later years and it brings me great comfort to know that young men and women like yourselves are patriotic and believe in this country like I did 40 years ago.
Thank you to Donald Trump and every one of you. You made this old man proud to be an American and one of you. I will go soon to a VA cemetery and know that you all have the watch. God bless all of you and know that you are 100% right.
